Ingredients

  • Kodo millet poha (flakes) – 100 g
  • Corn flour – 20 g
  • Wheat bread crumbs – 40 g
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  • Ajwain – ½ tsp
  • Garam masala – 1 tsp
  • Amchur powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Water – as required
  • Oil – for frying

Preparation Method

  1. Wash kodo millet poha in water and squeeze out excess water using a muslin cloth.
  2. Transfer the soaked poha into a bowl and add all the ingredients except corn flour and bread crumbs.
  3. Mix well to form a uniform mixture.
  4. Shape the mixture into lemon-sized balls.
  5. Flatten each ball gently to form tikkis.
  6. Prepare a corn flour slurry using water.
  7. Dip each tikki into the slurry and coat with bread crumbs.
  8. Heat oil in a pan and fry the tikkis until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
  9. Remove and place on absorbent paper to remove excess oil.
  10. Serve hot.
