Millet flour – 1 cup
Whole wheat flour (optional) – ½ cup
Salt – to taste
Red chili powder – ½ teaspoon
Turmeric powder – ¼ teaspoon
Cumin seeds – ½ teaspoon
Oil – 1 tablespoon
Water – as required
In a mixing bowl, combine millet flour, whole wheat flour (optional), salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and cumin seeds.
Add oil and mix well.
Add water gradually and knead into a firm dough.
Cover and let the dough rest for 10–15 minutes.
Divide the dough into small portions and roll each into a ball.
Roll each ball into a very thin circle like roti.
Heat a tawa on medium flame.
Place the rolled khakra on the tawa and cook on low to medium flame.
Press continuously with a cloth or spatula while flipping to ensure even roasting.
Cook until it becomes crisp and golden brown on both sides.
Remove and allow to cool.
Store in an airtight container.
Serve with pickle or chutney
