Chocolate muffins are a universal favorite, and this Sorghum Eggless Chocolate Muffin recipe brings a healthier millet-based twist to the classic bakery treat. Made using sorghum (jowar) flour, these muffins are soft, moist, and deeply chocolatey — without using eggs.

Ingredients Required

  • Sorghum flour (jowar flour) – 60 g

  • Maida (all-purpose flour) – 40 g

  • Sugar powder – 100 g

  • Milk – 50 g

  • Oil – 50 g

  • Cocoa powder – 10 g

  • Coffee powder – 5 g

  • Baking powder – 1 g

  • Baking soda – 1 g

  • Vanilla essence – 5 ml

  • Vinegar – as required

  • Chocolate chips – as required

Preparation Method: Sorghum Eggless Chocolate Muffins

Prepare the Liquid Base
In a bowl, add milk, oil, and vanilla essence. Mix well and transfer the mixture to a blender.

Blend the Sweet Base
Add sugar powder and cream (if using) to the blender. Blend until smooth.

Add Dry Ingredients
Add sorghum flour, maida, cocoa powder, coffee powder, baking powder, and baking soda to the blended mixture. Blend again until smooth and lump-free.

Activate the Batter
Add vinegar to the batter and mix gently. Keep the batter aside for 5 minutes.

Prepare Muffin Moulds
Place cupcake liners or wrapping paper into the muffin moulds. Pour spoonfuls of batter into each mould, filling them about ¾ full. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top if desired.

Preheat the Oven
Preheat the oven at 180°C for 15 minutes.

Bake the Muffins
Bake the muffins at 180°C for approximately 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Cool & Serve
Remove from the oven and allow the muffins to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
